Beed District (also spelled Bid or Bhir) is an administrative district of Maharashtra, India. Beed is the district headquarters.

Beed had many kings and kingdoms throughout its history. Champavati Nagari was the ancient name of this city. The city proudly displays some historical structures in the shape of the city’s many gateways (locally called waes) and the city’s defense walls that give hints of its former glory.

Beed district has a total population of 2,585,049 as per 2011 census. People mainly speak Marathi, Hindi, English and Urdu languages.
