Matsyodari Devi Temple
The temple of Matsyodari Devi at Ambad is 21 km south of Jalna town. Located at a distance. The hill on which the Devi’s temple is situated is shaped like a masoli (fish). Due to this, this goddess came to be known as the temple of Matsyodari Devi. This temple is one of the oldest temples in the nearby area.
Every year during the month of October, a large pilgrimage is made to this temple on the occasion of the Navratri festival.
According to a legend, the city of Ambad was founded by Rishi Ambad. He was once a king of Hindus. He ran away from his responsibility during his reign.
