Sanjeevani Vegetable Bet
Sanjeevani Island, also known as Vadaval Nagnath Island, is a hill and biosphere reserve located near Vadaval Nagnath village in Latur district of Maharashtra. It is 16 km from Chakur and 39 km from Latur city.
Sanjivani Island (Vadaval Nagnath Island) is known to be home to many rare species of Ayurvedic trees and plants. Rare plants grow in July to September (Uttara Nakshatra). During this period Ayurvedic scholars and researchers from many places visit this place in search of rare plants. Government of Maharashtra organizes Vaidya Sammelan (Conference) for various Ayurvedic doctors and local practitioners using traditional remedies for primary health care.
The government has also established a research center for the study of medicinal plants. Visitors can also interact with the local tribes, who are very knowledgeable about Sanjeevani Island.
There are many ayurvedic and naturopathy hospitals and medical shops in and around Vadaval Nagnath Betta where you can shop on the spot. Villages will officially open by 5:30am but the Research Center will only open at 9:00am. So it is advisable to visit between 8:00 AM to 7:00 PM.
